Job Summary

Midwest Express Clinic is seeking an IT Support Technician to join its growing team. This role will be an integral part of MEC’s commitment to providing Healthcare with Heart by supporting the daily IT helpdesk needs of our clinic locations and employees. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, roll-up their sleeves individual. The IT Support Technician and must be able to operate and navigate in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment. The candidate for this role must be located in the Chicagoland market and will be on-site at the Company’s clinic locations throughout Southern Illinois and Western Indiana.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Provide support to end users on a variety of issues.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
  • Use excellent customer service skills and exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Track, route and redirect problems to correct resources.
  • Setup new user accounts, hardware, software and user orientation.
  • Manage and track IT asset inventory.
  • Setup or modify IT equipment located at various clinics, including cable management.
  • Be part of the team rotation for being on-call for after-hours user and system issues.
  • Train end users as appropriate.
  • Create internal and user documentation.
  • Work directly with users and IT staff on day-to-day computer systems issues.
  • Act as backup support personnel for other systems as required.
  • Participate in projects as required.
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of help desk tickets.
  • Recommend procedure modifications or improvements.
  • Ability to work independently using checklists/documentation.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and keep our common work areas neat and orderly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Systems Requirements:

  • AA in CS, IS, MIS or equivalent education and experience.
  • One to two years of end-user support experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Passionate about computer systems and learning new skills.
  • High degree of competence with Windows OS and Apple OS
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and current computer technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are critical.
  • Experience with Apple OS/X in a Windows Domain a plus
  • Experience in medical industry a plus.
  • Experience with Experity and Power BI a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability travel onsite to MEC clinics in Illinois and Indiana as well as additional onsite support for head office in Chicago’s West Loop as needed
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in tight quarters (server room/closets and user workspaces).
  • Flexibility with schedule as required for on-call schedule or to support planned activities or emergency situations.
