Job Summary

Midwest Express Clinic is seeking a Health Informatics and Data Analyst to join its growing team. This is a newly created role. The Health Informatics and Data Analyst will be an integral part of MEC’s financial infrastructure.

Midwest Express Clinic is seeking a results-oriented, roll-up their sleeves, individual for the  role. This position will work with Management and Finance Team to operate and navigate a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, private-equity backed environment. Hybrid Role located in Chicago, IL. 

As a Health Informatics and Business Data Analyst, you will leverage data from diverse sources, including EMRs, financial systems, operational platforms, and sales/marketing databases, to support decision-making across the organization. Working closely with leaders in each area, you will help extract, analyze, and interpret data to drive strategic initiatives, operational efficiency, and business growth.

This role is ideal for someone with at least one year of experience in data analysis using SQL and Excel, with a desire to learn and eventually become a super user for our systems. You will also collaborate with leadership from various departments to deliver insights that improve performance and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Data Extraction and Analysis: Work with data from multiple source systems, including EMRs, financial systems, operational data (e.g., scheduling systems), medical supplies data, and sales/marketing platforms (e.g., CRM, marketing automation tools).
  • Collaborative Analytics: Partner with leaders in clinical, finance, operations, revenue cycle management, human resources and sales/marketing departments to understand their data needs, and develop ad hoc reports and insights.
  • EMR Super User Development: Learn and become proficient in the organization’s EMR system, providing support to clinical users and training them on best practices.
  • Data Quality and Integrity: Monitor and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across systems in automated dashboards.
  • Medical Supplies Management: Maintain accurate record of medical supplies inventory across organization, identify opportunities for cost savings, support ordering needs while adhering to budget requirements, partner with outside vendors to ensure advantageous contract management.
  • Cross-functional Data Projects: Participate in cross-functional projects that require the consolidation and analysis of data from multiple departments, ensuring that key metrics are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting Standards: Maintain up-to-date documentation on reporting procedures, workflows, and data management standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a data analysis role, preferably within healthcare or business operations.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn the EMR system and eventually become a super user.
  • Ability to work effectively with leaders across different functional areas (clinical, finance, operations, sales/marketing).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with multiple data systems, such as EMRs, ERP systems (for finance), CRM platforms, and other business data sources.
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminology, as well as finance and operations analytics.
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
